Context: This project was part of my master’s (M.Eng.) capstone project as a chemical engineering student at Imperial College London. Part of a team of 10, I worked on the full plant control, separation process, and business model for the project.

Description: Sinosorb Industries is the producer of the world’s first biodegradable superabsorbent polymers. The company uses paper-mill waste as raw material and extrusion technology to supply sanitary manufacturing clients..

Objective: Set up the plan for a sustainable biopolymer company to become a major provider to the disposable diaper market.

Key learning: This project put to practice all my engineering knowledge of 4 years. I learned how to navigate project complexity with a team and how to make innovative ideas possible by pooling together diverse industry research.
